10 Facts From The 2010 World Cup

- New Zealand were the only unbeaten team in the tournament (3 draws).
- Spain are the lowest scoring team in history to lift the World Cup, scoring just 8 goals in their 7 matches.
- The Golden Ball was won by Thomas Muller of Germany despite having the same tally as 3 other players. Muller won because he had the highest number of assists.
- Miroslav Klose scored more goals at the World Cup than he did in the entire 09/10 domestic season.
- It is the first time that both finalists from the last World Cup have been eliminated at the group stage.
- There were fewer shots on target during the tournament than at any previous World Cup.
- Paul the psychic Octopus correctly predicted all of his 8 matches.
- It is the first time a European team has won the World Cup outside of Europe.
- Spain kept a clean sheet in every one of their knock out matches, a feat they also achieved at Euro 2008.
- Howard Webb became a record breaker by issuing the highest amount of cards in a single match at the World Cup showing 14 yellow cards and 1 red in the final.
