Warnock Sacked As QPR Look To Hughes

January 9th, 2012 by

Neil WarnockNeil Warnock was sacked by QPR yesterday as Tony Fernandes seems set to turn to Mark Hughes to stabilise the club.

Under the outspoken Warnock, QPR have failed to win any of their last 8 league matches and are fast approaching the relegation battle. Fernandes may have been influenced by Martin O’Neill’s appointment at Sunderland which has seen their fortunes change considerably.

Warnock did a fantastic job in getting QPR promoted to the Premier League and up until his dismissal, had spent very little in the transfer market, perhaps Warnock deserved at least one transfer window with some money to spend.

QPR are today holding talks with former Manchester City manager and keen collector of average players Mark Hughes – a man that spent in excess of £35m on strikers Roque Santa Cruz and Jo during his time at City.

Former QPR player and manager Ray Wilkins offered this insightful piece of advice for the board “They will have to make the right decision”.

Nice one Ray!
