City Fail To Take Full Advantage
January 1st, 2012 by DaveManchester City were rubbing their hands together at this time yesterday as neighbours Manchester United were beaten by Blackburn. City would have been both hoping and expecting to take 3 points against Sunderland today, but it wasn’t to be.
Despite dominating possession against Martin O Neill’s team, City were sent packing by a late winner from Ji Dong-Won 3 minutes into added time.
Roberto Mancini will be more than a little concerned with City’s recent form – his team now without a win in their last 3 away games and midfield talisman Yaya Toure about to head off to the African Cup of Nations.
Sunderland on the other hand have a new found belief with O Neill at the helm having secured 7 points from their last 3 matches.
