Chelsea’s Cahill Deal Hits A Snag

December 30th, 2011 by

After agreeing a fee with Bolton for defender Gary Cahill, Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that there is still a long way to go before any deal is complete.

There is thought to be a disagreement over personal terms, particularly wages with Villas-Boas stating that the two parties are ‘miles apart’.

The fee accepted by Bolton boss Owen Coyle is expected to be around £7m and would see John Terry partnering up with Cahill at the heart of the Chelsea back four.

The issue over personal terms comes as quite a shock as many would expect Cahill to do anything to push the deal through with Bolton looking likely candidates for the drop this season.

Villas-Boas has stated that Cahill isn’t the only name on their list of targets and has hinted that Chelsea won’t be held to ransom over the England man.
