Biggest Signing Of The Summer
July 22nd, 2010 by Dave
With Manchester City throwing money around like it’s going out of fashion, Barcelona seemingly conjouring money out of thin air and Chelsea yet to strike but being linked with every man and his dog it’s time to look at who will be the biggest signing of the summer.
Barcelona’s new front man David Villa has cost the most money so far and is also likely to live up to his huge transfer fee, but will he be the biggest signing? Could it be one of Manchester City’s new boys? David Silva and Yaya Toure both come with a lot of hype and the medals and wage packets to prove it.
Manchester United have had a quiet summer so far and look unlikely to bring in any big name transfers with rivals Manchester City tempting anyone with an eye on Old Trafford away.
But the biggest of all is a match made in heaven. Real Madrid’s latest galactico and double Champions League winner Jose Mourinho comes with a reputation bigger than any of his players. Madrid have been playing second fiddle to Barcelona in recent years in both the Champions League and La Liga and Mourinho will be expected to turn that around quickly. And is he up to the task? You bet he is.
