Manchester City v Manchester United FA Cup Preview

January 6th, 2012 by

In what many expect to be the game of the weekend, Manchester City face Manchester United in the 3rd round of the FA Cup for the first time since their 6-1 victory at Old Trafford back in October.

Manchester City will be without Mario Balotelli who is suffering with an ankle injury that kept him out of recent games against Sunderland and Liverpool. Brothers Yaya and Koule Touré will also not be available as they head off to the African Cup of Nations. Gareth Barry is suspended following his red card in the victory over Liverpool.

United will be looking for the victory following back to back defeats against Blackburn and Newcastle in the league and have no fresh injury worries.

Prediction
Ferguson will looking for a response from his side and we expect United to win this one by a single goal as Roberto Mancini shuffles his side to accommodate the loss of Yaya Toure.

Manchester United to win 2-1.
